“As he takes the oath of office on the federal holiday marking King’s birthday, Obama will place his left hand on a bible once owned by King, an explicit consecration of the often implicit connection between the most prominent leader of the civil rights movement and the first black president.”

“Let’s not focus on what’s possible or doable,” Obama has advised, according to the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal discussions. “Tell me what our goal should be, and let me worry about the politics.”

With an eye on legacy, Obama developing second-term strategy

“Our party needs to realize that it’s too old and too white and too male and it needs to figure out how to catch up what the demographics of the country before it’s too late,” said Al Cardenas, the head of the American Conservative Union and a longtime GOP leader. “Our party needs a lot of work to do if we expect to be competitive in the near future.”

Election aftermath: GOP soul-searching must now begin – Jonathan Martin –

In case you didn’t know what a Filibuster is.

When pointing the finger at whom is to blame for the slow recovery and for the lack of change, take a look at the 112th Congress.
When the GOP took control of the House in 2010 this is when Government stopped. Congress is meant to be our bargaining ground. The place where we talk about the tough issues and set party aside and work towards the betterment of the American people. Instead we find the big money has sent it lobbyist to the Hill and the lobbies have courted our representatives and with Big business money have brought our voice in Washington. Here is a List of some of the bills that never went up for a vote. Bills that were intended to make our lives better. However the Republican members in Congress, more specifically in the senate blocked every bill in an effort to hold the American people and economy hostage to prove a point. Some of the representatives that you elected sent and pay their salary thought it more important to play the game based on party and personal political gain and not to fight for your best out come. These are the members of the government that is the disconnect. Every single republican in senate put them selves over our recovery. VOTE THEM OUT! This is not democracy! This is not how our government is meant to work.

Did you know, for example, that a total of 375 bills that passed the Democratic-majority House have been blocked by Republicansin the Senate?

… a few weeks ago.

I voted 22 days ago. Taking advantage of early voting is proving to have been a great  idea. i drove past the polling place and the line is around the block. Most of what I am reading on social media is implying the lines are long. As i am sitting here watching election coverage I find it surreal. Honestly I never thought what a world would be like Post Obama. I am holding my Breath. Praying he wins.

While in NYC I stopped by Rockefeller plaza to see

Democracy Plaza

I would love to be there tomorrow!

I almost missed it when I was on the page looking around. I wish they would have made bumper stickers like this. I would have bought a few.
